This is one of the two manga I’ve kept after sorting out the large pile I had when I was 16. I keep it because it’s a stand-alone story, not part of a series, and because the story is just so wonderful. Train Man is one of several mangas about Densha Otoko, the purportedly true story of a very shy guy who steps in when a drunk man harasses several women on a train. He then posts about this experience on a forum for single, geeky men and asks them for help when one of the women sends him an expensive set of china as a thank-you gift. He eventually plucks up the courage to ask her out, with continued support from the men on the forum, who nickname him “Densha Otoko” (Train Man). They advise him on everything from what clothes to wear to how to understand girls in general. At some point the whole forum is rooting for his relationship with her. There are also a tv-series, a film, and a book about this heart warming story.
‘The Weather Today’ is a challenge I set myself in which every day(ish) I will take a random book from my bookshelves and write a few sentences about it.
P.s. I finished reading I Capture the Castle (day 12) yesterday, and I absolutely loved it!
It’s so pweeeetty *hearteyes*
