Last Christmas my then-friend-now-boyfriend gave me this collection of Cat Stories, with the words “I don’t mean to say that this is all you are, but…”. It’s fair. I love cats even more than I love books. I think. (It’s quite a difficult choice now I come to think of it – Say you could only have cats OR books for the rest of your life, what would you choose? Leave a comment below!) I’ve read five stories so far. I discovered a while ago that I find it hard to read short stories back-to-back, so I alternate them with other books. At the moment, my favourites are I See You, Bianca by Maeve Brennan and Tobermory by Saki. The dust jacket has a gorgeous striped design that looks amazing on my bookshelf, and the selection of stories is very varied, so I can really recommend Everyman’s Pocket Classics.
‘The Weather Today’ is a challenge I set myself in which every day(ish) I will take a random book from my bookshelves and write a few sentences about it.
