“You can never get a cup of tea large enough or a book long enough to suit me.”
― C.S. Lewis

Another month has passed, so it is time for my October favourites! I hope you all had a great Halloween yesterday. Now that the festivities are over and the weather is getting worse, I’ll very much enjoy some nice and quiet evenings with a book.  Time to sit snuggled up with a blanket on the couch, a cup of tea in one hand and a detective novel in the other. Is there a better recipe for any cold and stormy night?

Alice in Wonderland mug

First item on my list of favourites is this increddible tripple-layered Alice in Wonderland mug. The combination of a sweet disney picture and a slightly darker design brings out the various layers in the story. As the mug is double-sided, both you and the person sitting opposite you have a great image to look at. The ‘drink me’ label only appears on the front, which I think is a nice touch. You can find this mug on Amazon.

Drink Tea. Read Books. Be Happy. – Mug

This will be my mantra for the upcoming winter months. I really like the simplicity of this mug, with its black on white lettering. Perfect for a morning tea. This cup was designed by MissHarry on Etsy. She sells another mug in the same style that says “Warning! I know all the lyrics to Frozen & I’m not afraid to sing them”. Dishwasher safe, yay :).

Who doesn’t remember the tale of mischievous Peter Rabbit, who was chased around his neighbour’s garden? He has inspired many fan-made artworks and merchandising, including this wonderful book shaped teapot. It was designed by James Sadler for Churchill China.

C.S. Lewis poster

If you like the quote at the beginning of this post, you might enjoy this pretty poster to go with it. I especially love that the steam issuing from the cup of tea turns into letters. Find this poster on Etsy. Check out the rest of Katie’s work in her webshop.

Note: This poster has unfortunately now been sold. However, I think it is such a lovely image that I still wanted to share it with you.

Lastly, many different variations to this Harry Potter themed teacup have been popping up on pinterest over the past few years. It is unclear who came up with the idea, but many people have reproduced it since with sharpies on a plain teacup.

I also found a very cute necklace of the grimm teacup on Etsy.

Do you have favourite book themed mug? Do you like to drink coffee or tea when you read? Please share!
