bb6741c87563612dca74daa0ab6c1f09Oops – it’s October already! I’ve decided that this end-of-the-month list of book goodies is going to include some of my all-time favourites, to make up for the fact that I’m three days late ;). I don’t own all of these must-haves yet, they are simply a selection of great things I came across online.

100 Postcards from Penguin

To celebrate their fiftieth aniversary (about three years ago now) Penguin released a box set of one hundred of their favourite book covers in postcard form. They call it “One Hundred Writers in One Box”, but in fact it’s seventy years of English book history told through a hundred iconic postcards.

Note: In the short time it took me to write this post I got given the postcards as a birthday present. They are amazing!

 Q & A a Day

The title of this book pretty much says it all: it asks you a question every day of the year, varying from ‘What did you eat for breakfast?’ to ‘When was the last time you cried?’ to ‘What can you smell right now?’. The book allows you to answer the questions for five years and see how your answers change (or don’t!), making it the perfect diary for anyone who doesn’t feel up to extensive journaling. I just passed the two years mark and I’m still loving it!

This awesome bookshelf allows your books float in the air. Or look like it, at least. Disguised as a beautiful hard cover book ‘Ceci n’est pas un livre’, also called the ‘self-shelf’, is the perfect magical gift for anyone who loves floating piles of books. (And to be fair, who doesn’t?)

The bookshelf comes in different colours and with either a man or a woman on the cover. I have owned the red man-with-turban version for years, but haven’t put it on one of the walls of my new place yet, as it requires you to drill two holes in the wall.

Book Cover Tent

I don’t know whether I would actually like to own this kind of tent, but this picture did make me giggle.  How awesome would it be to sleep inside a book? The fieldcandy website cleverly calls it “Fully Booked” *involuntary giggle*.  You can find the book tent here.

  1. I was suggested this blog by my cousin. I’m now not positive whether this post is
written by means of him as nobody else realize such special
approximately my difficulty. You are wonderful! Thanks!

  2. My partner and I absolutely love your blog and find most of your post’s to be precisely what
I’m looking for. can you offer guest writers to write content available for you?
I wouldn’t mind publishing a post or elaborating on a number of
the subjects you write in relation to here. Again, awesome web site!
